Dr. Raúl Martos Calvo

Partner of Uros Associats. Specialist in Oncology, Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery.

Dr. Raúl Martos graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Barcelona (Hospital Clínic) in 2001, specializing in Urology via Mir at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital where he completed his PhD studies.

He has worked as a specialist in Urology at the Vall d’Hebron Hospital (2007-2008) and as an assistant doctor of the Urology Service of the Corporació Sanitària del Parc Taulí in Sabadell (2008-2015) developing his activity, fundamentally, in the field of Uro-Oncology and urological laparoscopy. During this period he participated and directed different congresses and courses, mainly in the field of complex renal surgery by retroperitoneal laparoscopy, in the field of laparoscopic adrenal surgery and in the field of laparoscopic cystectomy with multimodal rehabilitation protocols.

Since 2015, he is a senior specialist urologist at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. In this last professional experience, he is a member of the Uro-Oncology section and the Renal Transplant section. He has carried out training stays in Sweden (Karolinska Institute), in the field of robotic surgery, specifically the innovative technique of cystectomy with robotic neobladder and robotic radical prostatectomy, which he currently develops at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.

He has attended different courses and congresses nationally and internationally as a speaker and participating in live surgeries receiving different mentions and awards. Among other awards, the First Prize for the best surgery in 2011 and in 2012 in ACUC congress, the First Prize for the best communication in 2014 in the 3rd National Symposium of update in training of laparoscopic and robotic surgery in the multidisciplinary field, an Official Mention for the best surgery in the congress Minimally Invasive Surgery Week (New York 2015), the “GABRIEL VALDIVIA” Award for the most innovative surgical technique in 2015, the Award for the second best surgery in 2019 in Spain delivered at the National Congress of Urology (AEU) and the second best surgery video in Europe in 2019 granted by the European Association of Urology (UAE), awards in the field of laparoscopic surgery, retroperitoneoscopic and robotic.

Since 2009 he has practiced his private activity as a urologist in Uros Associats both at Clínica Sagrada Familia and at Centro Médico Teknon. Since 2015 he is a partner of Uros Associats (Private Urology Service).

He has published several articles in books and national and international journals, as well as book chapters and has participated as principal investigator in more than fifteen research projects.

He is part of the European and Spanish Association of Urology and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Societat Catalana d’Urologia.

At the same time, he has taught as Associate Professor of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Medicine (UAB) from 2011 to 2015. From 2015 to the present he is Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Barcelona (UB)
