Dr. Roberto Castañeda Argáiz, graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the Popular Autonomous University of the State of Puebla, Mexico (2002 – 2006), being the highest average of his year.

He specialized via MIR in Urology at the Hospital Cínic de Barcelona. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU) since 2014. He worked as a Staff Urologist from 2015 to 2018 at SJD Barcelona Children’s Hospital, Fundació Althaia de Manresa. He holds a Master’s Degree in Organ Donation and Transplantation from the University of Barcelona in 2012-2013.

He is currently an Associate Urologist specialising in Laser Surgery of the Prostate and Renal Lithiasis at Uros Associats de Clínica Sagrada Familia from 2018 to date and at Clínica Sant Josep de la Fundació Althaia in Manresa since 2016.

Dr. Castañeda has focused his activity as a urologist in the Surgery of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) with lasers, such as Holmium Laser Prostate Enucleation (HoLEP), Prostate Vaporization with Tulium and Green laser (Greenlight). He built his expertise on these techniques at centres such as Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, Hill Clinic in Bulgaria and Uros Associats in Barcelona. He is currently part of the BPH Working Group of the Catalan Society of Urology.

He is also specialised in the surgical treatment of renal lithiasis with semi-rigid and flexible ureteroscopy and flexible ureteroscopy, as well as percutaneous nephrolithotomy, in centres such as Hospital Clínic, Hospital de Bellvitge and Hospital de Bellvitge, Hospital de Bellvitge and Hospital Tenon in Paris.
