Dr. José Alvarez Rodriguez graduated in Doctor of Medical Sciences from the University of Havana – Cuba (1983-1989), with honors, homologated to the Spanish title of Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.

He specialized in Family and Community Medicine at the University of Havana (1991-1994) where he also completed complementary training with a diploma in Human Resources Management, Medical Emergencies and Integral Health Management at the National School of Medicine of Cuba.

Between 1989 – 1996 he was a Doctor of a Primary Care Clinic in functions of Prevention, Promotion, Cure and Rehabilitation of Health in the Teaching Polyclinic of Playa de C. Habana. Coordinating Pediatrics, Gynecologist and Internist offices; as well as the coordination of undergraduate studies of students and residents of Medicine and Integral General Medicine.

In 1999 he was Public Health advisor to the mayor of the city of Arica (Chile) conducting an analysis of the health situation of the municipality.

Between 2000 and 2006 he directed the Municipal Health Directorate of the Playa municipality, C. Habana as head of the Medical Emergency System and Primary Care clinics, serving a population of 190,000 inhabitants and evaluating the Health Status of the population annually. He directed the Maternal and Child Program, the Social Assistance Program, the Medical Emergency Program, and the Primary Care Program.

Later until 2008 he was at the El Pinar Integral Diagnostic Center, in Maracaibo (Venezuela). Being a doctor in the Emergency Area, in the Care of patients with urgencies and emergencies in Life Support and follow-up in the Intensive Care Room.

 

Since 2008 he has been a medical assistant at the Benviure Geriatric Medical Care Center (Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona).

Being in turn between 2009 – 2012 doctor of Continuous Care of CUAP, Castelldefels (Barcelona). From February to August 2012 he was in the Internal Medicine consultations at the Sant Joan Despí Medical Center, of the Policlinic Group.

 

Combining it since 2009 and, currently, with the Medicine Service of the Teknon Medical Center (Barcelona). He joins the Uros Associats team in 2022 as a staff doctor at the Teknon Medical Center.

 

Between 2010 and 2018 he attended multiple courses on Care for the elderly and multi-pathological patients, at the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine, and on Radiological Image Interpretation and Advanced Life Support at the Teknon Medical Center.
